Friendly 411 Weekly -- August 3, 2017
From the Call Committee—For those you who missed the announcement in worship service several weeks ago, please join us in welcoming Pastor Matt Henry and his family as he has accepted the call as our Senior Pastor. Stay tuned! Details and dates coming soon!
Attention ALL Men! Our next Men's breakfast will be this Saturday, Aug 5th at 8:00am. We will have a video " NOAH and the last days" instead of a speaker. For more information, contact Ray Ohlaug (208-908-3281).
2017 Fall FCLC Church Participation Directory! We are putting together a new church participation directory. Draft copies of the directory are located in the west window wall area in the foyer. Please take time to check your information and make any necessary changes. If your information is not in the draft copy, but you would like to be added to the FCLC church participation directory, please use the Addition Sheets available on the table. This year we are updating ALL PHOTOS in the directory. David Reinke will be available before or after the worship services to have your picture taken for the next 4 Sundays. New photos are especially important as we welcome our new senior Pastor, Matt Henry and his family. Or you can email a specific photo to the church office at All photos must be submitted no later than Monday, August 28th.
Meet Your Elder—Ever wonder who your elder is? Pictures of all the elders are and a list of who they serve are now posted on the bulletin board in the hallway.
PHW— Paving His Way, the westward addition to our parking lot, reached $54,899 July 30th, which is 78.4% of our $70,000 funding target. The expansion will add 33 paved and lighted spaces to our existing parking. We thank those who have already generously contributed! If you have not yet done so, please consider supporting this effort to accommodate future FCLC visitors and growth. Designate Paving His Way contributions via a notation "for PHW" on your check or envelope. Questions? See Ron Bischoff
Ladies! Great news! Marla Olsen has volunteered as Chairman of our next Advent by Candlelight! Plans are just beginning, but the intention is to feature children and the child's view of the Birth of our Savior. More details will be forthcoming. As of now no one has come forward to arrange for the first Women's Breakfast, usually expected on Sept 23rd. If you have an idea for a program and two friends who might help with food, please contact Bonni Shikrallah (208-321-0781) for some background information on how to proceed.
Preschool News—As a congregation, we are thrilled to have the preschool as part of our ministry. We are grateful for all the work Tawna Werner, our current preschool director, has done this year to continue its success. Sadly, she is moving to the Salt Lake City area with her husband in September. First, we are looking for a preschool teacher for our Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning 3 yr. old classes. Over the next few months we will be interviewing to find a director to continue this family ministry. If you are interested or know someone who would like to work with little children, please contact Kayla at the church office at (208) 288-2402.
Reminder! Car Wash & Yard Sale Saturday, August 26 from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Yard Sale donations are now being accepted in the Barn.
