GLEANINGS 2018: It is that time of year again! For all of you who received new blankets, gloves, coats, sweatshirts, and sweaters. Consider donating your old ones to Friendship Celebration. We will be collecting donations from Dec 31st through January 7th before and after church. Our Youth Group will separate them and deliver them to the City Light women’s shelter and the Boise Rescue Mission on the evening of January 7th 6pm. We will take a tour of City Light and have a Bible study on servanthood. God’s Blessing this Christmas, and thank you for your donations.
Holding onto Holden? Midweek Advent services are completed. If you have a copy of the service folder of Holden Evening Prayer, please return it to the church office since these copies were purchased by another congregation. Thanks!
Greek Bible study has ended! No Bible Study for us on December 24th or 31st. Beginning on January 7th, the new study will be "I Know a Little German", a study on the book of Galatians.
Camp Perkins Winter Equipment Challenge Match - Turn $1 donation into $2. A challenge match donation of $10000 has been issued by donors for new truck and rotary blower. In 2017, the USFS opened up the opportunity for us to use the first 250 yds. of Alturas Lake Road for our winter parking! An incredible blessing for future winter events that continue the work of the Lord all winter! However, we must clear the space ourselves. A 3/4 ton truck and rotary blower are necessary for this work since we can get upwards of 6ft of snow and frequent subzero temps. The cost is $30,000. Help get us there through this challenge match!
Financial Peace University: For everyone who would like to take the Financial Peace University class starting on Tuesday, January 9th, 2018, you need to go to www.FPU.com/1053470. This will sign you up for the specific class here at Friendship Celebration. Even if you bought a kit already or need to buy one, please sign up. There are also sign-up sheets here a FCLC for those who are going to attend; so that we can get a head count. Any questions, contact Rich Davis (208-807-0741).
SHARED BLESSINGS SUCCESS! As of Dec. 14, FCLC has 32 investors with Lutheran Church Extension Fund and has reached the first tier rebate for Shared Blessings! That means the church will receive an estimated rebate of $3,012 per year! Wow! Thank you to those that signed up and helped us reach this goal! By investing with LCEF you earn great rates, make funds available for the church at large, and support the work of God’s kingdom. Our next goal is 56 investors so that means we need 24 more people to reach the next tier and earn an even larger rebate! All it takes is a one-time deposit of $25 to open a youth account and there are many other options too. Applications and forms are available in the fellowship hall and online at www.lcef.org. For more info, please speak with Peggy Runcorn, Pastor Matt or Rick Richter.
