Friendly 411 Weekly December 29, 2016

12.29.16 | Weekly 411 | by Joan Hammerson

A reminder that the Lutheran Hour float will be in the Pasadena Rose Parade on Monday, January 2. (When New Year’s Day is on Sunday, the parade is held the next day).  The major networks never show the float because it is Christian themed, but Home and Garden TV (HGTV) does show it.  This year's float will be the 89th unit in the parade, which means it will be seen near the end.

FCLC is offering a new Bible study/Discussion group called "Raising Christian Children in a Mormon Environment" during the Sunday School hour. It addresses the issues that Christian families face in predominantly Mormon areas, specifically schools and neighborhoods. It starts Sunday, January 8th and will be led by Jen Voeltz. The class will meet in Room 121 (down the hall from the church office).

FCLC GLEENINGs - Did you get a new blanket or jacket for Christmas? If you donate your coat, warm clothes, or blanket/sleeping bag - the Youth will deliver them to the Idaho Youth Ranch, Boise Rescue Mission, or City Light women's shelter on Sunday, January 15th. See Brett for more information.

The Thursday Women’s Bible study will resume on January 12th with a new study called “Discerning the Voice of God” by Priscilla Shirer. If you are interested in joining this study, please contact Karen Graham (208-870-7764).
