Friendship Celebration Lutheran Church offers a 7-week Summer Day Camp called “Camp Friendship”. Camp Friendship runs Monday-Friday starting on June 10, 2024. Camp Friendship is led by a team of teachers and daycare professionals with the support of youth counselors. Camp Friendship provides a safe, caring, Christian environment for children during the summer.  

Summer Day Camp runs from 9am-3pm Monday through Friday starting the week of June 10. Summer Day Camp will not be held the week of July 1-5. The last day of Summer Day Camp is Friday, August 2.

Each week of camp will have a different theme and focus.

June 10-14 – Lego Camp

Campers will enjoy a week of fun and learning all centered around building with LEGO blocks of various sizes. Outdoor games, crafts, and indoor LEGO building are all part of the active learning this week!

June 17-21 – Wonder Camp

Campers will enjoy a week of fun and activities as we engage kid's imaginations and discover the God who created us!

June 24-28 – Wild Life Camp

Campers will enjoy a wild week of fun and learning about animals in the wild and discover how special we are to God!

July 8-12 – Deep Sea Camp

No scuba gear required! Campers will enjoy a week of fun and activities and will learn how deep the love of Jesus is for us!

July 15-19 – Set Sail Camp

Time to set sail as the campers will enjoy a week of fun and activities learning about following Jesus, our captain!

July 22-26 – Explorers Camp

Do you crave adventure? Campers will enjoy a week of fun and exploration as they dig into the stories Jesus told to help us grow in our faith and to love others.

July 29-August 2 – Extreme Splash Camp

Campers will enjoy a week of water fun outside on inflatables and at all the water activities. What a great way to end the summer!

ONLINE REGISTRATION

The registration and payment process are entirely online. Please click the button "Step-by-Step Online Registration Instructions" below to read through the steps to register. Use the button "Register for Camp" to start the online registration process. To register, you'll first pay a one-time, non-refundable $50 deposit. This will hold your child's spot at camp and allow you full access to camp throughout the summer. However, you are encouraged to register by May 3rd to save $20/full week with our Early Registration Discount. There is no discount for single day registrations. You can pay in full or choose one of our convenient payment plan options. Payment plan options are only available for our weekly rates.


Please note that space is limited each week of camp. There is a waiting list if a week reaches capacity.

SUMMER CAMP PARENT HANDBOOK

APPLY TO WORK AS A SUMMER DAY CAMP COUNSELOR

Our camp counselors and camp assistants (CA's) are an important part of our Summer Day Camp each year. To work or volunteer at camp, each student must complete an "Employment Application Form."

 

High school aged youth and young adults who wish to work as a camp counselor at our Summer Day Camp must complete the Camp Counselor Application below. All applicants must be at least 14 years old at the start of camp AND must be going into high school in the fall of 2024 (or older) to apply as a Camp Counselor. Camp Counselor duties include working from 7:45am - 4pm Monday - Friday. They will work as leaders of a small group of campers during the day and be responsible for their care and safety. They will be active throughout the day, engaging the campers in a variety of fun activities. 

 

Youth going into 7th or 8th grade may apply to volunteer to work a week or more as a Camp Assistant (or C.A.). They will not be paid. CA's help with setting up and cleaning up throughout the camp day. They are integrated into a group to assist the Camp Counselors, as needed. 

 

Camp Counselors and Camp Assistants are expected to attend the Camp Training on select days one week before Summer Day Camp begins. Dates TBA.

FAQ for Camp Counselors

Below are answers to the most FAQ we receive from applicants or their parents. 

If you are interested in working at camp this summer, please download and complete the online Employment Application Form.

  • Yes. As long as they are 14 years old at the time of Summer Camp and will be going into high school the Fall 2024, they can apply for a paid camp counselor position.

  • No, we understand the busy summer schedule of our youth. On the application form, they should be honest and select only the weeks they are available to work.

  • Their weekly salary will be adjusted for one less day of work.

  • No. All present 5th graders must register for Summer Day Camp like any other camper in 5th grade and younger.

  • The deadline for all Camp Counselors to turn in their Employment Application Form is Monday, April 29.

    Hi! I'm Tim Kaufmann and I also serve on staff as the Director of Youth and Family Ministry at Friendship Celebration. I've served as a Director of Christian Education for over 30 years at five different churches. Our parents and campers will be blessed by the wonderful leadership team and staff serving at Summer Day Camp this year!

    Hi there! I'm Heather Walkup and I'm thrilled to be a part of the team at Friendship Celebration Summer Camp. With 15 years of experience in early childhood and children's ministry, I'm passionate about creating meaningful and memorable experiences for young campers.     Hello, everyone! I'm Brittney, and I'm excited to embark on an adventure at Friendship Celebration Lutheran Summer Camp. With six years of experience in early childhood and preschool development, I'm dedicated to fostering growth and creativity in our youngest campers. At home, my three-year-old daughter Kinsey, keeps me on my toes with her love for all things messy and fun, especially arts and crafts.     Hi!! I'm Michelle Rickerl, I have been with Friendship Celebration for several years now as a preschool teacher in the 3's and 2's classes.   I have also been on staff for summer camp in years past. I have been a director assistant for Children's ministries, Girl Scout leader and have volunteered many hours as an art teacher or class parent.   I love Jesus and sharing about him and his love for us!! I  also truly enjoy working with kids, staff and the leadership at camp. I am excited for another summer of camp,  it is such a fun time for kids creating some amazing memories.

My name is Emma and I’ve worked in childcare for 5+ years, having served on staff since I was 13.  I am passionate about having fun and making the memories that stick with you for the rest of your life. I am beyond enthusiastic to work with everyone this summer!
