What is Dinners for Eight?

Friendships are formed around food! Dinners for Eight is an opportunity for groups of up to eight people to connect in a casual, relaxed atmosphere around food. It’s a great way to meet folks from church that you may not already know. Groups get together once a month for four consecutive months with each couple or individual taking a turn to host or arrange the meal. The emphasis is on fun and fellowship, so you don’t have to be a gourmet cook to participate. Dates and times are flexible, depending on what works for everyone in the group. There can be daytime or evening groups. You don’t have to be a member of the church to participate.

How does Dinners for Eight work?

You can sign up as an individual or couple. Once groups are formed, a Group Coordinator will be selected. The Group Coordinator will contact their group members to select the location, date, and food sign-ups for the first gathering.

Who cooks the meal? I don’t have room to host a dinner, or I really can’t cook!

Your group decides. You share meals at participants’ homes, at local restaurants, the church or wherever. Meals can be breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Groups can meet during the day or in the evening. Your group is welcome to schedule a meal at the church. We want everyone to feel that they can participate.

How are groups formed?

Our goal will be to put people together so that each group has, at most, eight adults. Groups may be comprised of all couples, two couples and four singles, etc. It all depends on who signs up. Since the intent of the dinners is to get to know new people, we will not accommodate requests to be in a certain group. The mystery is part of the fun!

What about families with children?

When registering, please indicate whether or not you would like to participate with or without your children. Those with children will be grouped together.

How do I sign-up to participate?

Registration is closed for this summer. If you are interested in participating contact Joy Kaufmann,

Connections Coordinator, at jkaufmann@friendshipcelebration.org.
